Poor Casting Choice for Max Payne

When you look at the above image, does it remind you of Max Payne?

The answer is no. Unfortunately that is what we're going to get for Max Payne, the movie, coming out on October 17. Mark Wahlberg is playing the title role. Max Payne is a DEA agent whose family is slain as part of a conspiracy. His co-star is Mila Kunis. She plays Mona Sax, an assassin out to avenge her sister's death. Together they will be chased by cops and mops.

Yes, Marky Mark can handle a gun, as he did in other movies such as The Shooter, but something about him doesn't exactly fit the gritty Max Payne. The picture above shows Wahlberg as too squeaky clean for the character. He doesn't personify Payne. And maybe he'll prove me wrong but they could've cast a better actor. My fellow blogger X suggested Clive Owens - he would've definitely be able to handle the action role, and as proven in Sin City, he has the swagger and look to play Payne.

Mila Kunis as an assassin? Seriously? The girl from The 70's Show, Forgetting Sarah Marshall and the voice of Meg from Family Guy? From the above picture, she can't even hold a gun correctly, let alone play a convincing assassin. She should stick with comedy.

Oh yeah, Ludacris and Nelly Furtado are in this movie too. Top rated actors all around.

The trailer does show some promising action scene, but it's not impressive enough to have the "wow" factor. They threw in some cheesy Matrix movements (as does every action movie now-a-days) and some cool explosion... that's about it.
